I got one of the first COVID Vaccines in the country!

Hey everyone,

I got the pfizer covid19 vaccine and in this video I am going to talk a bit more about the vaccine science and talk about why I decided to get it.

There is a lot of misinformation out there. I hope to provide some clarity but ask you do your OWN research on this vaccine. For the purpose of this video, topics are going to be simplified, but to get a better understanding look at the links in the description box below to read more about it.

I’ll start of by talking about how the pfizer vaccine I got works. The injection gives you a strand of mRNA cells which goes into your muscle tissue and gets delivered to cells in your body. This mRNA that is delivered to cells essentially allows your body to have a strong immune response to covid when you get it which will allow your body to effectively fight it off. Research from the clinical trials shows that it was 95% effective in fighting the virus off.

So the vaccine comes in two injections. One injection at the time you get it and then one more 21 – 28 days later. The ingredients of the vaccine are posted on pfizer’s website which are Lipids, potassium chloride, potassium phosphate, sodium chloride and sucrose.

Now I’ll talk about why I got the vaccine. Aging is a part of life and we need to protect our elderly citizens from all the viruses and diseases in the world, this is no different. Although many will argue that the younger population have a greater likelihood of being able to “fight off” the virus, they can also easily transmit it to others and this will result in deaths for the elderly. You can’t have one demographic of the population substantially die due to people not wanting to get a vaccine. It is just ethically not right. So the faster we get the vaccine the faster we are able to protect the immunocompromised population and ultimately protect ourselves from getting this virus.

My wife and sister being pregnant as well and as we know pregnant women are technically immunocompromised. Therefore I want to do everything I can to protect them.

I understand that people might be hesitant about the unknown aspects of the vaccine. Like what are the long term effects of this vaccine and how often we need to get the vaccine to get protected. But personally, when I have seen so many people die and just deteroriate so quickly, I would do anything to not get it. Therefore I would definitely choose to get the vaccine rather taking a chance of being able to “fight off” the virus. There is also the aspect of long term effects of getting the virus. Like what happens 3 months after you’ve been able to fight off the virus, does it resurface, and that coupled with the fact of the actual illness itself has convinced me to get the vaccine.

So many people will want to know what the side effects are and my experience. The side effects of the vaccine are typical of any vaccine. The side effects are fatigue, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain and fever. After a few hours of receiving the vaccine, I definitely can say that my arm feels sore and I did not have a fever although I never measured my temperature I did start sweating. I also felt really tired but the next day I felt a lot better. I also had to call in sick for work because of the symptoms I was experiencing because the way my work is right now, if you are experiencing any symptoms you need to stay at home and if I had a fever going into work then I would need to take my set off abruptly and then make the ED short. But if I just call in sick for one day, the side effects will hopefully go away and then I can go back to work the day after that. Plus I never call in sick so I have soooo much sick time.

So in conclusion this vaccine is extremely beneficial for society. The faster we all get vaccinated, the faster we can achieve herd immunity and ultimately be able to see our loved ones again.

Thanks for watching and we will catch you in the next video!
